Meet Our Instructor
Sheriff Keith Stone
Sheriff Stone has been in law enforcement for over 38 years. He holds thousands hours of law enforcement training and numerous certifications in law enforcement instruction. Sheriff Stone is effective and efficient in the area of handgun training and weapon retention skills. His vast knowledge of officer survival skills and training is second to none.
What do we offer?
The course shall consist of eight hours of instruction and shall include the following identified topical areas:
1. Legal Issues
2. Handgun Nomenclature
3. Handgun Safety
4. Handgun Fundamentals
5. Marksmanship
6. Presentation Techniques
7. Cleaning and Maintenance
8. Ammunition
The student shall take a written exam and pass with a minimum score of 70 percent on the questions provided by the Commission at the end of the course.
The student will fire 30 rounds of ammunition at a bulls-eye or silhouette target from three, five, and seven yard distances.
